Brave New Music
Brave New Music Festival, 6th Edition, November 10-15, 2025
The Future Is Contemporary
For six editions, the Brave New Music festival has brought to Sibiu energy, courage, and the joy of discovery. What began as an adventure born from the desire to find a common language between classical and contemporary music has today become a landmark for those who believe that art has no borders — only questions, emotions, and explorations.
Initiated by conductor Cristian Lupeș, manager of the Sibiu State Philharmonic and a constant promoter of contemporary and Romanian music, the project has evolved into a vibrant space for dialogue between generations, styles, and ideas.
For one week, the Thalia Hall becomes a stage for experimentation and contemporary connections — a place where sounds, images, and ideas intertwine into an experience that challenges and inspires. Musicians, visual artists, and theorists meet the audience to explore together how art can speak about today’s world and the one being born right now.
This year’s edition presents masterclasses, recitals, concerts, contemporary art exhibitions, and, last but not least, conferences dedicated to intersections between the arts, between classical and contemporary.
Brave New Music is not just a festival, but a sonic journey through ideas and emotions, a meeting of generations and worlds. It is an invitation to listen differently, to see differently, and to understand that the music of the future is being composed right now — because the future is contemporary.
